About Me
Prof. Arie Sover, is a Lecturer and researcher in Communication and Humor Studies. He works at the Open University of Israel, and focuses on the psychology and sociology of humor. He published five books on humor and another one on the way, such as: 'Humor: The Pathway to Human Laughter' 2009; 'The Importance of not being Ernest' 2012; 'Laughter': An interdisciplinary Anthology of Humor Research' 2018 [In Hebrew], Carmel Publishing House; 'The languages of humor' 2018, Bloomsbury Academic; 'Jewish Humor' 2018, Tsinghua University Press [in Chinese, Forthcoming]. Founder and Editor of the Israeli Journal of Humor Research, an international Journal, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Humor Mekuvan, the first Hebrew scientific journal of humor research, Founder and Chair of the Israeli Society for Humor Studies. He also lectures to the public, organizations and institutions on 'Humor and positive thinking as a way of life' in order to make a change in humans' lives.
